About Ben

Shaping the Future of Learning

“Education is the most powerful form of social justice. When we get it right for each child, we change the world.”

Ben Moudry is a nationally recognized Montessori educational leader with over two decades of experience building and sustaining schools where children thrive. Currently serving as Head of School at Lake Country School in Minneapolis — an AMI-accredited, ISACS-accredited institution serving over 300 students ages 3–14 — Ben has spent his career proving that exceptional pedagogy and strong community are inseparable.

A Lake Country alumnus himself (Class of ‘89), Ben returned to the school that shaped him with a mission: to deepen its legacy while boldly expanding its reach. Under his leadership since 2019, the school completed a major campus addition, strengthened its Land School programming, and further embedded equity and justice into every dimension of school life.

Before Lake Country, Ben served as Head of School at The Grove School and spent a decade as Montessori Director at Great River School — one of only eight Montessori secondary schools in the United States. He also served as a founding Project Manager during Great River’s launch, building curriculum, facilities, personnel systems, and culture from the ground up.

Ben holds an M.Ed. from the University of Minnesota. He leads with deep listening, systems thinking, and an abiding belief that schools are where a more peaceful world begins.
